BEN­RO is a glob­al leader in pro­fes­sion­al pho­tog­ra­phy and videog­ra­phy, renowned for high-qual­i­ty tripods, cam­era bags, and acces­sories. A flag­ship brand with­in the MAC Group, BEN­RO’s rep­u­ta­tion for inno­va­tion and qual­i­ty is well-established.

The Chal­lenge

BEN­RO’s dig­i­tal ecosys­tem was not keep­ing pace with their oper­a­tional needs and glob­al ambi­tions. After mul­ti­ple redesign attempts from agen­cies that fell short, they approached us in 2019 with a frag­ment­ed store that lacked the capa­bil­i­ties and user expe­ri­ence to match a glob­al brand. They need­ed a strate­gic part­ner to res­cue the project and build a cohe­sive and scal­able ecom­merce sys­tem to meet their needs and posi­tion them for growth.

The Approach

Our mis­sion was to build a uni­fied online pres­ence for BEN­RO that mir­rored the strength and reli­a­bil­i­ty of their prod­ucts. Key goals included:

  • Opti­miz­ing site search and AI capa­bil­i­ties for supe­ri­or prod­uct discovery.
  • Empow­er­ing the BEN­RO team with a user-friend­ly, high­ly func­tion­al plat­form for faster con­tent updates.
  • Inte­grat­ing the site with their broad­er busi­ness ecosys­tem for stream­lined prod­uct man­age­ment and mul­ti­chan­nel sales.


The Solution(s)

We suc­cess­ful­ly migrat­ed BEN­RO’s oper­a­tions to a new, pow­er­ful ecom­merce plat­form pow­ered by Big­Com­merce. Key inte­gra­tions included:

  • Search­a­nise: For an enhanced search expe­ri­ence with fast, rel­e­vant search that under­stands user intent and con­text. Great for prod­uct discovery.
  • Sal­si­fy: For syn­chro­nized prod­uct data. A flu­ent con­nec­tion between the dig­i­tal store and their inter­nal sys­tems, includ­ing the Ama­zon ecosystem. 

We also:

  • Opti­mized the plat­form code­base to sup­port emerg­ing AI-dri­ven search for per­son­al­ized, adap­tive, tai­lored shop­ping experiences.
  • Deliv­ered a clean, intu­itive design reflect­ing BENRO’s pre­mi­um brand iden­ti­ty, with a lay­out that makes it easy for cus­tomers to find the exact tri­pod or acces­so­ry they need. 

The Result

This project marked the first site we deliv­ered for the MAC Group. Its time­ly launch in late 2019 proved to be a crit­i­cal move. The dig­i­tal infra­struc­ture we built allowed BEN­RO to thrive and grow in a peri­od when many busi­ness­es strug­gled. By the time the world shift­ed to dig­i­tal-first com­merce, BEN­RO was already oper­at­ing at full capac­i­ty, thanks to their new, effi­cient plat­form. The inte­gra­tion with Ama­zon via Sal­si­fy was par­tic­u­lar­ly instru­men­tal, enabling expand­ed reach and sus­tained sales.
