For over 30 years, IGT has been a trusted name in Spain’s hospitality sector, delivering robust software and hardware solutions that keep restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues operating efficiently. Their suite of products spans from advanced POS systems and waiter management tools to barcodes, ATMs, and infrastructure hardware. But while their technology powered some of Spain’s most dynamic businesses, their digital platforms were holding them back.
The company's online presence had been divided between a corporate website on WordPress—which said little about their real capabilities—and an ecommerce B2B store on Prestashop, which failed to meet the needs of their client base, offered a poor user experience, and had limited integration with their operational systems.
With international growth and operational efficiency in focus, IGT required a digital ecosystem capable of delivering a modern experience, functionally integrated with core systems, that could reflect the credibility of a certified ISO 9001 provider.
And that’s where we came in. But first:
IGT approached us after a digital transformation attempt with another partner that fell short. We were tasked with rescuing the project, rebuilding the corporate site and the B2B store from scratch, and—most importantly—integrating everything directly with their SAP ByDesign ERP. The goal: real-time data syncing between their business logic and the BigCommerce platform, giving customers a clear, easy portal to manage orders, invoices, and service requests.
It was more than a migration. The project required an extremely customized integration layer, enhancements to BigCommerce’s native features, and a massive UI/UX revamp to align the brand’s online presence with its reputation in the hospitality sector.

We migrated both the IGT corporate site and the B2B ecommerce store to BigCommerce, introducing Alumio, a middleware layer that acts as a fast, intelligent bridge between BigCommerce and SAP ByDesign.
We gave the corporate website a complete design overhaul: responsive layouts, ISO-aligned certifications, and a brand language that finally communicates IGT’s decades of authority in hospitality technology.

The new platform offers users a better experience and greater autonomy, a capability the previous solution lacked. It also expands and optimizes IGT's online sales channels to fit their multichannel strategy, filling another critical gap in the former setup.
Plus, it saves them money, both in the form of countless hours that would have been lost to trial and error, and in the form of actual money that would have gone into other (more expensive and complex) options offered by SAP.
It's a great example of how smart custom integrations and thoughtful design can extend BigCommerce's capabilities, thus making even the most complex B2B workflow feel simple and run smooth.
