EGO is a fast-growing UK-based brand. Their fast-fashion model has scaled quickly since 2020, with +60M in revenue and +20M yearly visitors on the UK website alone, evolving from a footwear brand into the number one destination to shop affordable fashion-forward looks.
Known for its trend-driven collections, EGO required an e-commerce platform that could keep pace with their growth while enabling international expansion and operational efficiency, an order too tall for their Magento platform. Adding to the complexity, the client had worked with another agency that failed to deliver, so we had to jump in, fix things, restore confidence, and really deliver under pressure.
EGO’s chosen stack required a very strong technical execution to ensure seamless communication between systems while maintaining high performance, speed, and ease of maintenance. The website had to look fantastic and be able to compete with industry titans. On a budget.
We stepped in to design and build a fully headless storefront powered by BigCommerce. The result? A scalable, high-performance platform that empowers EGO to stay ahead in the fast-paced world of fashion.
We implemented a comprehensive system that allows EGO to operate across multiple markets seamlessly, a challenge that required custom development to enhance Alokai's capabilities and properly support BigCommerce's multi-channel functionality. Localized storefronts for UK, Canada, US, Australia, Europe and EUA.
We integrated Amplience as the headless CMS, enabling EGO’s marketing team to autonomously manage content without technical dependencies. The team can now add new content blocks, promotional banners, manage navigation and menu items without writing code. We refactored one of Alokai’s integrations with another partner (Algolia) and fixed the architecture so it could integrate, fully functional, with BigCommerce and our front-end headless website, and we developed tailored integrations and microservices to connect BigCommerce with Ometria (CRM), Amplience, and other systems.
We developed a custom domain structure with two domains and four paths. Created scripts for redirection in BigCommerce and built a domain structure in Alokai to accommodate complex URL requirements.
We built the front from scratch. PLP and PDP, custom cart, login process, pagination, wishlists, menu, search experience and more. Each bit of the website is crafted in detail, integrating multiple platforms into one seamless fashion delight.

Our contribution was vital to manage client and vendor relationships and expectations, collaborate with workarounds and solutions to make the project possible, and keep costs at bay.
